Over the past 3 and a half years I've had guitar lessons from Jazz, covering everything from my playing ability to music theory, from the basics to the in-depth details.
Jazz is very knowledgeable when it comes to music theory and is able to break things down, explaining details at a level dependant on the ability of the person he's teaching.
The lessons are online and this has never limited Jazz's ability to teach and observe. During our lessons he's able to pick up on the little things such as the way I hold the guitar pick, how hard I'm hitting the strings and my picking style.
Jazz is very passionate about music and loves what he does, which comes across in the lessons. He has a wide range knowledge of bands/artists/composers across different genres, which has helped when discussing music theory as he's able to give very specific examples in songs, so that you can hear the elements you're leaning in songs you love!
It's fair to say my playing ability, technical knowledge have come a long way and I would highly recommend taking guitar lessons with Jazz.

When I first started looking for a teacher, I randomly stumbled upon his content on YouTube (check him out @nihilist92). After checking out some of his tutorials and gear reviews, I quickly realized he would be a good fit. Even though his content has a metalcore focus, he is much more diverse than that. He can help accelerate your learning curve whether you want to learn theory, dial in your favorite Metallica riff, or build on your chops/existing techniques. His approach to teaching is great. He’s patient, focuses on what you want to learn, and does so at a pace that’s comfortable for you. I’ve found exceptional value hiring him as a teacher, and I’m confident others will too.

This is guitar tuition with a big slice of social understanding. Jazz demonstrates high levels of skill with patience, understanding and encouragement. I highly recommend him if your looking for professionalism mixed with humanity. Despite owning a guitar for the best part of my life, Jazz was the first person to instill the confidence in me to pick it up and start playing. Jazz has to be the best guitar teacher ever. I was sceptical that having a guitar lesson over Zoom would actually work, but it does! Jazz gives clear instructions and feedback. He has the patience of a saint, which he needs with my guitar playing! He always provides the music sheets from each lesson promptly and also provides videos of him playing the piece to help with your practice during the week.

Jazz is not only an incredible musician, but an incredible teacher too. After having lessons with a guitar teacher at school with little sign of improvement, my son started with Jazz and he has unlocked a true passion and skill in him! Jazz is patient and inspiring, and always happy to go over and beyond with fantastic results. Working intuitively, Jazz constantly expands on what my son is interested in and would like to do, keeping everything interesting and alive for him, while ensuring that he learns the basics and develops good habits. My son and I can't recommend Jazz enough. We weren't sure what to expect from an online teacher, but couldn't be happier. All the stars!

Jazz and I had been friends for a couple of years before I started taking lessons with him. I was just recovering from multiple injuries that had gotten in the way of my playing, and I started to find my rhythm again when we started last August. I ended up getting hurt again, and was in really bad shape about it, but what Jazz did was adapt to my needs, and he showed me how to adapt in ways I hadn't before.
The best thing about his lessons, and about the relationship I build with him as a student, is how incredibly in-live with music he is and how BRILLIANTLY he can communicate ideas and concepts that would've been either extremely boring or just overwhelming to me. Jazz allowed me to look at music as a relationship of sorts with multiple facets, not as some School or college assignment. Things became practical, links began forming between myself and things that I enjoyed, and he helped me build them by allowing me to realize the importance behind relating to what my ears were looking for in a practical sense so that I would actually know why or how to apply what I think would work when composing.
Jazz pulled me out of a rigid perfectionists mindset, and has been pulling me towards the mindset of a curious musician one day and one stop at a time. Even when I've felt discouraged, he made my lessons worthwhile, and gave me something to look forward to. I got to wake up and look at what I love in a way that is slowly fulfilling my needs as a musician who's still working to make it.
Best of all, he believed in me. He believed in me and gave me a spot to take these lessons with him, to guide me back to the thing I love, and to teach me that all that matters, is how something breaks through and finds its way into you. How it makes you feel, what it taps into...And how you can figure out why, so you can use what you love in a way that actually fulfills you.
Jazz gave me the gifts of belief and curiosity back, and reminded me of why I love music so deeply. Taking lessons with him is definitely one of the best decisions of my life as someone who wants nothing more than to make a career out of this. He truly is a great teacher, and I can rarely say that about anyone in any field based on my own experiences with educators. His sincerity is unmatched. His ability to be patient and the infectious childlike enthusiasm that surrounds him once he starts talking to you about music makes you want to do even better, no matter where you stand or how discouraged you may feel. Truly one of the kindest and warmest individuals.
He gave me hope again, and I'll always owe a huge debt of gratitude for that.
